Yesterday's Grocery List

In case you couldn't tell, I've got the....well I'm not sure exactly what I've got. I don't think its bad enough to be the flu, but I can't breathe, my throat is swollen, and I've had fever since Tuesday. The things I've learned since I've been sick:

1. There is nothing worth watching on television between Noon and 7 pm. After the first day, I depleted my full stock of Tivo reserves, including 2 episodes a night since the beginning of the month of Scrubs that I hadn't seen yet and have spent the rest of the time drowning in the wasteland of daytime programming crap.

2. Watching Grey's Anatomy, Survivor, Lost, etc. in real time is tough! Due to Lesson 1, I've had to actually watch primetime shows live. It is nervewracking to have to sit through commercials after the cliffhangers they give! What did we do before DVR?

3. Internet games can only go so far before being boring. I am now the #2 arcade champion at drakeshangout.com with the highest score on 11 games.

4. CNN does not update their content enough. Sure, they do a really good job. But when internet games have been exhausted and no one is updating their blogs 3 or 4 times a day (which is what it would take to entertain me), I go through all of the current CNN content pretty quickly. And MSN. And AOL. And Fox News.

5. I need to start collecting more books for a rainy day. I thought I had several on my shelf that I haven't read yet, but I guess I cleared all of them off in all of my traveling last semester.

I guess thats the end of my whining. Hopefully I'll finally start to feel good tomorrow...or at least will get rid of my fever so I can get back to life.

Absolut Emily Tate

So I promise I'm going to post pictures of Rome, but I took about 300 pictures on my trip and only 70 were from Florence. So I have a LOT to go through and frankly, just haven't had the motivation to do anything productive over the past couple of days.

But in the interest of not keeping the exact same thing on my blog....in my full on recluse mode that I've been in today (Ice storm in North Texas for those of you not here...), I got extremely bored and googled myself. To my surprise, I found out that I am a drink! No kidding! There is a drink called Absolut Emily Tate. Wonder who decided on that name....and now I kinda want to try it! It doesn't sound great though. Couldn't my drink at least have involved cranberry juice and be pink? This is from the Absolut website:

The Eternal Conundrum...

Its 3:15pm and I'm sitting in my office. I've tied up all of the loose ends that I needed to before I leave for two weeks , but I still have a meeting at 4:30pm that I have to stick around for. What do I do for the next hour and fifteen minutes? :(

Update: I decided to take this time to switch my blog to New Blogger. And with a new blog should come a new background, so I changed that too. This took all of 15 minutes. Only one hour to go. sigh....

Oh Blogger, Where Art Thou?

All of my blog buddies...I am begging you! Please post soon! Every day I have been coming to my computer in the middle of my Integrated Project Hades, hoping for a little relief through some fun stories, neat pictures, and general updates. But alas! Everyone on my blogroll (except for Megan) has reruns!! Not that I can say much, and I know we're all busy. But just a little shout out to your readership would brighten my day...which I promise you, needs brightening right now. :)

I'm Bored

I had class today. Then I had Graduate Assistant work to do. Then I stayed on campus for a bit and finished some work that I needed done for a meeting I have at 5pm. That was done at 4:00. So I checked my email (none, cause I've checked it pretty consistently all day), looked at myspace, read the 1 or 2 blogs that I haven't checked yet today. Now its 4:09. I am out of worthless things to look at on the internet, its too close to the meeting for me to be able to go home, I forgot to bring my Operations Management stuff to work on, and I have literally nothing to do for the next 45 minutes. Any suggestions?

I'm Bored

I have spent the last 2 days doing absolutely nothing. Seriously....I have hardly left my apartment. So unless you want to hear about all of the horribly melodramatic MTV shows that are on right now, about my thrilling trip to the dentist, or about the 30 test text messages I sent to John while he was at Cingular trying to get his phone to work, I have nothing. So until I get my inspiration back, I hope this game will entertain you. :)

National Abandon Your Blog Day!

Apparently today is National Abandon Your Blog Day and I was not informed! Going down my daily checklist of blogs usually can take up a good hour or so, especially if I comment, and today it has taken 20 min. flat. The only people who posted today were Lindsey (ol' faithful), Trey (new faithful), MC, and Jonathan Root. So now I'm left sitting at home with the dreaded conjunctivitis (ol' pink eye) that has been going around our group with nothing left to read. I've already exhausted the stash of built up TV shows on our TIVO that I saved for a rainy (or should I say, eye runny) day and have nothing left. What do you people have? Lives? Don't let those get in the way of your blogging duties!! Entertain me!!

Sorry, I'm going a little stir crazy. Little side note though: I can't find my glasses and can't wear contacts right now, so my mom took me to buy new glasses after my eye doctor appointment today! Pink eye has it's upsides. And since there is no such thing as generic brand glasses anymore (if you've bought any recently, you know what I mean) I got to buy a pair of Kate Spade glasses....nearly the cheapest ones in the store next to Dolce and Gabbana, Vera Wang, Versace, and some super-special swedish brand that weighs less than 2 paperclips. Its a designer world out there now and I'm getting my (very) small part of it.
