Random Thought of the Day

How did the American Accent come to be? I mean, our country was formed by people coming over here from England, which is why the majority of us speak English. We kept the language - wouldn't we have kept the accent too?

how do you define the "american" accent? you listen to a person from boston and one from mississippi and they sound like they're from 2 different countries

And even within one city the accent varies: the Bronx accent is different from Brooklyn. I think it's also shaped by the immigrants who've moved into the area.

I totally thought about you saying that entire post in a real thick drawl ( you being from Tx. and all) I love your accent, very sweet!! People say that I have a northern accent, IVE NEVER LIVED UP NORTH. I moved from Fl to Ok. and grew up in Tx. wierd. Great post idea!! L A
