Go Frogs!

Tonight, I went to the TCU vs. BYU football game with my friends, Chris, Erin, and Mike. It was DEFINITELY a fun game....we had a good tailgate before the game (all 45 minutes before the game since it was Thursday and we were coming from work), saw some friends from grad school that we haven't seen in awhile, and got to watch the #24 Horned Frogs completely smash the #9 BYU-ers (anyone know their mascot?). It was a great night! And even better...I'm taking the day off work tomorrow, so I don't even have to worry about going straight to bed and getting up tomorrow. :)

Happy Memorial Day

I've spent 30 minutes trying to write a fitting tribute for our soldiers (like any of them read my blog, but still...) and can't write anything that even halfway expresses the praise they deserve. So I am just going to say thanks. It is because of them that I can enjoy a day like today - I went to a concert and fireworks show at White Rock Lake in Dallas. It was beautiful and I am thankful that we are able to gather like that with minimal fear here in America. God Bless America!

Why would you do that, MTV? Why?

I feel like I'm Cindy Lou Who walking in on the Grinch stealing her Christmas tree. I was flipping through channels to day and MTV was showing "So You Think You Can Dance." I turned to it and it was the Vegas Week episode from my favorite season....the Year of Allison!!

I got really excited and was ready to set my Tivo to record all of them so I could see my favorite dances again. I went hour by hour looking at the next two weeks, and this is the ONLY episode they're showing of it! They're not showing the rest of the season! The mean MTV Grinch gave me a little taste of a fantastic Christmas cookie and then he snatched it way. Why would you tease me like that, MTV?

Instead I'll just have to reflect on my great time at the SYTYCD tour in November. Lindsey and I surprised our friends by renting a mini-van and decorating it for the tour. We are such dorks, but I'm okay with that. :)

I Have Found My Long-Lost Twin!

Okay, obviously not LITERALLY my long lost twin - I'm not 5'3" and phillipino - but this is my friend Christina. She is a 2nd year in the MBA program. We met at the beginning of the year, but really got to know each other last weekend in Boston. And it turns out - we're exactly the same person. We are both marketing concentrations, love musicals, love the arts in general, hate guacamole, love Boston accents, and are reality TV junkies. Those are just a few of the things we learned about each other while we were gone. It is so great because we have both been looking for someone in our programs to share things like that with because no one else in the MBA program shares our affinity for them. She spent last year dragging some of the guys to cultural things that they hated and I have spent the first part of this year trying to talk people in my class into seeing musicals. But now we have each other! We have such limited time between classes and consulting that it is hard to see people that aren't in the MBA program, so to have someone to talk about the things I like with is just incredible! God has really brought me something I really needed to make it through this program with my sanity.
