Have you ever had a dream where someone did something so bad to you that you woke up the next morning mad at them for real? That happened to me last night. I had a dream where one of my friends from school was so mean to me that he made me cry in my dream. If you know me well, you know that it takes a WHOLE lot to make me cry. So this morning, I woke up and I was still angry at him! Even sitting here now, several hours later, I am still actually mad at him even though I know he didn't REALLY do anything mean and it was all just a dream. What is it that makes some dreams so real that their effects are felt for so long? It can happen with good dreams too - waking up from a good dream will leave me feeling good for most of the day. Am I the only one who this happens to?
When I was at ACU, my roommate Nichole spent a day furious with me. I couldn't figure out why. She wouldn't tell me, she just spent the day mad and kept saying "You know what you did!" Finally, right before bed, I said "Please just tell me what I did so I can make up for it. I really have no idea." So she goes into this story about me saying mean things to her and I don't even remember a lot of it, but about halfway through, it started getting so ridiculous that she stopped and realized that it had been a dream. We still laugh about it now. I am at least one step ahead and recognize that my situation was a dream, but for some reason I am still so mad at him! Hopefully when I see him tonight, I can put my dream anger aside and realize that he is my good friend and has never done anything like what he did in my dream.
I'm wishing happy dreams upon all my readers today. :)

Oh, I'm so the same way. That's so funny reading your post about dreams right after I sent you an email about my dream! Seriously, I do that all the time. What's bad, is when you have a romantic dream about one of your friends, that you really don't feel that way at all. Then it's so weird around that person.
And then you start questioning yourself....maybe I should like him...
Psychologically there are 3 main theories about dreams:
1) They are expressions of your subconscious. (Therefore you actually like that "friend". Or in the Nichole example she was just mad at you.)
2) They are the brain going over what happened that day. (So you may be thinking about hat "friend" during the daytime. Wink wink. Or in the Nichole example she took a small argument into a dream and blew it up.)
3) They are a random fireing of neurons that your brain tries to understand any way it can, often useing familiar patterns. These patterns fall into ruts your brain makes during your waking life. (So if you stress about tests you dream about them. Therefore the romantic/argument dreams are somewhat telling but not unexpected.) Others think there are just random globeldy gook with no significance.
Clearly I skewed these theories to poke fun.
The Bible has one theory about dreams:
1) They are prophecy.
The real question here is:
1)How many "romantic" dreams do you girls have?
OK, just so you know, their PG romantic dreams, when I say romantic I really mean romantic.
Just so you know you meant "they're" not "their."
Trey the Bible has more than one theory about dreams:
"As a dream comes when there are many cares,so the speech of a fool when there are many words.
Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore stand in awe of God." Ecc. 5:3,7
The writer of Ecclesiastes seems to think that sometimes dreams come because of anxiety and that a lot of dreams don't mean anything.
(BTW-I found this passage two weeks ago in my lesson prep on Joseph...I don't have random passages about all kinds of subjects memorized, nor did I search for it in my concordance)
OH MY WORD. OK, if you're going to take the time to proofread my comments, at least own up to it. Try reading one of Emily's post from a few days ago. I'm very aware of the difference between "they're" and "their" but sometimes I type fast. Excuse me for not proofreading.
