WARNING: This post discusses bathroom habits. Should that make you uncomfortable, stop reading now. :)
Girls, have you noticed that whenever you go into a public restroom with multiple stalls and someone is in one stall, most people will skip the next stall and go into the third? Its like we create a "buffer stall" if at all possible.
Guys, do you do that too? Or are yall much less neurotic and go to whatever stall/urinal is closest?
Told you it was a random thought....

I definitely try to place a buffer stall in between me and whoever. I think that most people do put some thought into which stall they go in. For example, I once read somewhere that typically the first and last stalls are cleaner than the ones in the middle because most people choose a middle stall. So I always try to get one on the ends.
Emily, since I've been married, I've learned all about the unspoken "urinal etiquette." It's quite funny! But, I don't think it would mean the same coming from me. You'll have to get a man to explain.
OK. We all know there is a buffer stall. Two if possible. I'm unsure of the need for the post of this...
I just consciously noticed it today. I guess I'm just a little behind. :)
urinals are creepy.
The idea of there being NOTHING to separate you and the guy doing his business next to you??? YUCK.
I place as much distance between me and the next girl as possible. I mean, come ON who wants to hear (or face it, SMELL) someone else going to the bathroom?!?!?!?
men skip a stall, in fact I made an algebraic equation to help me do so.
S = N + (N-1)
n = number of people in the bathroom.
S = stall you should choose.
So if you are alone (i.e. n=1) you should go to the 1st stall. But if there are 2 people (n=2) you should skip the second and go to the third. S= 2 + (2-1).
This system only works if everybody follows the rules. Every now and then a guy will walk into a bathroom with three urinals and take the middle one. What's he trying to prove? I always assume he's fruity and use a stall.
